Code of Ethics for Construction Sites and Production Plants

Basic Rights

All employees are paid at least the minimum wage specified in the collective agreement. According to the UN Declaration of Human Rights, we all have the right to organise trade unions and to look after our own interests, for example, by having open discussions with shop stewards.

Fairness and Equality

We will not discriminate against anyone based on age, ethnic or national origin, nationality, language, religion, beliefs, opinions, disability, sexual orientation or other personal reasons. This means that we will treat everyone as equals and we will not behave in an offensive, threatening, hostile, derogatory, humiliating or aggressive manner towards anyone. We will not tolerate harassment, discrimination or any other inappropriate behaviour in our work environment.

Occupational Safety and Health

We will work together to ensure that the workplace or production facility is safe, that workers use protective equipment, that everyone receives adequate job orientation, and that occupational health care works. We will use photo ID cards. We will ensure that all workers are covered by social security, that the workers have adequate accident insurance, and that the employer and the employee both fulfil their social obligations.

Ecology and Workplace Cleanliness

We will keep a tidy workplace. We will aim to prevent the generation of construction waste and to improve waste management. At the workplace and the production plant, we will consider the environment by recycling and sorting waste. When work methods, logistics and packaging methods are optimised, the use of raw materials and the amount of waste are reduced.

Faults

If we detect failings in any of the matters above, we will inform our supervisor and, if necessary, other workplace or production plant managers and shop stewards who must take action to remedy the fault. If necessary, we will also report the matter to the authorities.
