The Finnish Construction Trade Union has approximately 85,000 members, and it is one of Finland's strongest trade unions. The professionals working in construction sites, construction product industry, building technology and land and water construction in Finland are members of a trade union, in this case the Finnish Construction Trade Union.

By joining the union, you can safeguard your terms of employment. The membership also ensures that your employers will conform to the legislation and the collective agreement.

The Finnish Construction Trade Union oversees the interests of its employees in abroad as well. The union has agreed on the minimum terms of working in the building trade with the employer organisations with collective agreements. The union representatives, shop stewards, and officials monitor the following of these agreements. It is for your benefit, as well.

The agreements include the decisions concerning wages, working hours, holiday compensations, length of the holidays, shorter working hours, mid-week holiday compensations, and sick leave wages. Without collective agreements, the employer can decide all these issues alone.

The development of the terms concerning wages and other issues require continuous efforts. It requires a solid trade union. The strength of the Finnish Construction Trade Union lies in its members and in the good unionisation of the field.

As a member of the union, you are also entitled to receive guidance and instructions from the shop stewards and officials from the Finnish Construction Trade Union.
